Data Centres are one of the key energy and carbon problems of our time. Globally data centres are using 2-3% of the planet’s energy and this figure is growing exponentially. Forbes quotes the average PUE of data centres globally to be in the region of 2.5 i.e. for every 1KW consumed for compute there is a supporting 1.5KW, which is generally 95%+ cooling usage.

Nexalus approached this problem with an entirely fresh mindset creating a number of patents and creating solutions that capture 100% of the thermal energy in a 1U server configuration while reducing capex and opex costs, enhancing CPU processing speeds and compute capacity per metre cubed. The thermal energy captured is also available in a liquid stream facilitating a full circular economy.

Features

Nexalus X1

The thermal science and technology developed as part of Nexalus X1 is the foundation stone on which the Nexalus solutions are based. The X1 requires up to 1/10th of the water of a conventional water cooling systems while being capable of delivering better performance in a 1U server format. Nexalus has also designed and manufactured periphery products that support the deployment and operation of the block for maximum performance.

Server Systems

Sealed 1U Servers

Nexalus 1U server cases are entirely sealed with 100% thermal energy capture. For standard data centre CPUs we can supply systems with no water in or out. We enable the transfer of energy from the coolant loop inside the server through conductivity to a secondary coolant loop in the rack.

42U Racks

The Nexalus 42U server rack facilitates the extraction of 100% of the energy from the 1U servers and the pass off of that energy to a data centre infrastructure. These rack units are designed to interact and capture energy without water flowing into the server. The secondary coolant loop is a building loop that gathers the energy from the servers delivering it through radiators to the atmosphere or connecting to an alternative circular economy outlet.
